Was forwarded on by Progressive Direct for Rental Property insurance. Told agent house was vacant with tenants moving in to home in 5 weeks, I was assured by agent selling insurance that it would be covered since the move in date was so soon. I canceled my policy with different company and signed up with them. Two weeks later I get a cancellation notice based on the house being vacant! When I called in I was told they are not responsible for what their own agents say, I'll see what the Insurance commission says about that. Probably a blessing in disguise since I can go with a reputable company now.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They have sneakily raised our rates by $300 or more every year and we are just now, four years later, catching it. We have had no reason for these increases as we have yet to make a claim against our home insurance policy. Run from this company as fast as you can!
This is the WORST COMPANY EVER!!! I had storm damage to my roof.They didn't want to repair it. I had another company to come a inspect the roof and indeed it was damaged by a hail storm. Homesite cancelled my policy because the roof HAD TO BE REPAIRED!!!!
This company is horrible. Lies, Lies and more lies. God forbid you ever have to file a claim with them. I'm in the process of contacting an attorney so that a bad faith suit can be filed. So sick of this company!
This is the poorest company to try to get in touch with anyone on the phone. The system just runs you around in circles. I have spent 20 minutes listening to the same retoric on three different phone numbers. All I want to do is get a confirmation on a bill and pay it for a customer and I can't get passed the same messages. The system eventually hangs up on me. I give it a 1 out of five only because it doesn't allow me to just leave it at 0.
Do not go with Progressive, who uses Homesite as the underwriter. We had terrible damage done to our home with last spring's storms and the adjuster recommended full roof replacement. The people at Homesite are lying and saying these people did not recommend that and our only recourse is to pay for arbitration. pathetic!!!!We pay for this service and when the storms hit, they don't want to pay up. don't go with them!!!!! very poor and rude customer service as well. Ruby Johnson was the party that told half a dozen lies to us and on us and wouldn't call us back until we demanded a supervisor call. I don't mind spending the rest of my days spreading the word on these sorry companies.
These people are horrible. Cancelled my policy over a month ago, still no refund. A rep says she will call you back, she never does. Wow...thank god I left them and went with a local company. Am now filing an OIC complaint against them. Stay away!!!!
I got this home insurance through Progressive Home Insurance. When I talked with them before I bought they told me everything was covered. Watch out! They don't cover flood from floor drain backup. It is an extra rider they don't even tell you about when they help you. Cancelled since then.
Pathetic. Will not return phone calls or emails. Refuse to do business. I have filed a complaint claim with the State I live in and am pursuing legal options. Disgrace of a company.
Yes if you go with Homesite Insurance you will be like most of the people on this list they will not contract you.I have two companys that tell me I have roof damage,The only time they Jeffrey Lloy called to tell me I had no claim.will not call you or email you back. Stay away and tell others
Do not get into a contract with these people; they are frauds at best. They will go to any lengths to avoid living up to their end of the legal contract. I have sued them and am awating trial in a year. They are down right dirty group of people. Stay away!
1 have had a fire feb 13,2009 and still haven,t receive the pay off i am still homeless its almost three years
Not sure what this is all about. I had a claim for theft. Opened and settled in three days.
BAD!!!! do no purchase any insurance w/ this company... the sales team will tell you anything to sale you an policy.... i purchased extra coverage for my computer and had a claim denied....
HORRIBLE COMPANY!!!!!! We have sent dozens of emails and made dozens of calls - still do not have paperwork or check in hand from a claim filed months ago!!!! THEY NEVER CALL or EMAIL BACK! The worst service I have ever experienced!!!!!!

It is extremely difficult to get in touch with the company at the claim time. No call or email back from them. They keep you in the dark. Will move on to other company. The real rating is -5.
If I could give a negative number for the rating I would! Amazing - have hail damage on our siding but they can't see a "reason" why hail would hit our roof. house behind and beside have to siding damage, yet their insurance company is putting new roofs on. Homesite sends the same adjusting company - who tells you they are there to minimize your claim. We will be moving - once we pay out of pocket to get our home put back together! RUN from this company!
