We have a claim filed with them. They agreed to pay. 48 hours later the call back stating they will not pay because they are going bankrupt. We have filed a formal complaint with the insurance department in our state. Next is legal action on the debt.
A letter dated 12-31-2013 to the insurance commissioner of my state, shows Pride has total capitol and surplus to be $18,207. Their certificate of Authority to write insurance has been revoked until they have at least $1.5 M. $18K could be spent in less than one auto claim. I'm not so sure who to be more upset with Pride, or the Insurance commissioner for allowing them to accepte premium but no reserves to pay claims.
My husband and I started out with a great rate. $100 for full coverage and liability on 2 vehicles. Everything was fine at first. All of a sudden I stopped getting my mail from them. I got a renewal, which we signed, and never got the proof of insurance. I called the company to see if they would send it and we never received it. I had to drive to their office (without proof of insurance, mind you) just to get the document. Once it was time to renew again, they bumped our payments up another $100. I was completely surprised when I received a cancellation notice in mail. Extremely surprised since the only thing I ever received by mail was renewals. I called the company and asked why I was being cancelled when I sent the payment in over 2 weeks ago. I was told that they did in fact receive the payment (EARLY!) but were holding it!! How can you receive someone's payment, hold it, then cancel their policy?? To make matters worse this didn't only happen one time. It happened twice. Maybe it was my bad for keeping the insurance after the first time but I was getting a decent price. Until they decided that they wanted that extra $100.

I'm thankful I never got into a wreck after reading everyone's comments below. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.
I've now signed with Esurance.
In December one of their insured ran a red light and totaled my suv. They have lowballed me on property damage; but I have decided to take it just to be able to get a car to drive. I am tired of walking to and from work (4 miles a day). They haven't paid any on medical bills either.
I am suing them for every dime they have. Their insured totaled my car and tried to drive away after rear ending me. This happened 2 months 11 days ago still no check for my property damage. I lost my job for not having reliable transportation. I am also making payments on the totaled car still because they haven't paid. Since they are being so cheap I hope they hire a good attorney because I did. I am getting my money and sum. Never try to deal with these people on your own HIRE AN ATTORNEY ASAP!!!! Also take pictures of your accident and get a police report.

Adjuster really made the body shop that I got the estimate from really mad. He said he had never dealt with them and didn't like them. They kept sending the estimate back and wanted him to change it. I wasn't happy with the adjuster we used cause she was hard to get a hold of her. When my policy expires I will defiantly be going somewhere else.
Terrible experience. Got a representative who was very polite and helpful but then sent the estimate and picture to the claims department and the response was exactly as follows: just revised this thing. Shop noted that the claimant states broken part on rear suspension. Just needed a rear bumper and a tail light...just sayin’ Okay, how professional is that? Pride, please hire some more mature, educated, respectful employees!
Very great rates. I'm 36 with a 2000 Ford Windstar minivan and my rate is 103 every 6 months.
This comcpany sucks I had an accident in my car the damages was over 3,000 dollars and they told me that most of my damages were from a previous accident and the their estamate was less than my deductable so the paid me nothing.
I see what everyone is saying, it takes them forever and they do not return phone calls. They are very unprofessional and as soon as I get my business taken care of, I will no longer be using Pride Insurance
On State minimum insurance this place was the cheapest by far, I'll give them that.. But, my dislikes about them are that the people you talk to dont help when you need it. My gripe is that they NEVER sent my renewal and I was 10 days late when I noticed it had expired. Had to pay a $40 fee to renew. Then 6 months later, No renewal again. It arrived about 5 days before expiring. Sent my check and had to get my agent to fax me new verification. Pride waits till the last minute on renewals and leaves you without verifications if you get stopped.

After 2 years with them, they now jump my rate an extra $70. So I price shopped and Allstate gave me a better price.

Bye Bye Pride insurance.
This company is awful.. they will tell you one thing and do another. Their insured totaled my vehicle and was at fault per the police report and the officer but the adjuster will not go by the police report but of someone who was driving with a walking boot on his driving foot..be aware when doing business with this company.. now I'm out of a car thanks...
Slow to respond. Had no rental service set up. Took a week and a day to get the claims adjuster to look at my car who them entered the wrong information to the company (another delay).They never called me back it was always me calling them.
WoW! You have a Rate and Review on purpose so that people can leave comments! You Erased mine after a couple hours WoW! This insurance company's policy is "if you buy a new car drive it home after closing time you are covered with full coverage as long as you have another vehicle with full coverage. There policy states you are covered prior to an accident. I bought a vehicle after closing time and was driving it home and unforturnetly rolled the vehicle 3 times and its a gonner. So basically there policy is your covered only if you do not wreck the car?!?!?!?!?! I dont reccommend this insurance company to anyone because they refused to cover my brand new vehicle i just bought.
YOU ALL SUCK! HAVE 4 CARS ON A POLICY WITH YOU ALL 3 ARE LIABILITY AND ONE IS FULL COVERAGE. I was in an auto accident with a person that had Pride National insurance. I found the people at Pride national easy to work with and professional. I had check for the damages with 2-3 weeks.
These people are very elusive as if they are inhuman and insensitive to the needs of those injured against their policy. How can this go on without correction? It is as if they have no accountability due to upper management behaving in the same manner. The negative reviews are consistent with the same complaints. They were actually nice on the phone with an mirage of enticement that they will assist you with your needs. Once you hang up, you will basically have to catch a flight and knock on their door. It's a very unprofessional company held to no standards. How can the agent step away from her desk every time you call. You are right about Chris and Tony. I am going to get political on this and appeal to have their company under review for fraud and neglect. The correction has to start somewhere and getting a lawyer is the best choice of action. Somebody has to wake up around there and that's what they make you do, get legal assistance.
don't recommend Pride insurance
to anyone. I was in a wreck and they was the one that was to pay for my bills. It took one month for them to tell me i could drop my car to have it fixed. My doctor bills has taking 3months for them to send the money for. Chris and Tony are the worst people and Pride to return your phone calls. I could call for days and no call back. All you get is a answer machine.
A claim has been filed with the insurance commissioner of TN about the lack of professionalism and rudeness of Pride National Insurance. I hope this is a wake up call for them and that they will retrain their employees or hire new ones. The standards of this company have to change.
This company is very sorry. The agents are very rude. I keep getting sent to voicemail. I would like to advise you not to be insured by pride national. I've left messages for the president of the company and still no returned call. These people are very sorry and unprofessional.
Very rude, unprofessional, and sarcastic adjusters. If you call anyone in the company, you will just get their voicemail and you are extremely lucky if they call you back. The only way to contact anyone is to get ahold of the operator (if you are lucky enough to reach her) then get the person you need - or press random options on the ivr. I have even left a message for my adjusters supervisor due to his lack of professionalism - haven't heard from her either.
Horrible, unprofessional, employees. It has taken from October 2010 - til today(2/2/2011), & she still has not received her check. Return calls are done by speaker phones with very unprofessional and unconcerned staff. I won't advise ANYONE, NO ONE to use this company not even to insure your cat or dog. PITIFUL!!!!!
Still havent got my insurance check, and I got in my wreck on Dec 15th. Basically horrible service. Plain and simple.
I am a customer of pride national insurance I have been ignored by the employees of the company I have been trying to receive my deductible to have my vehicle repaired but all I keep geting its answering machine of the claims office and the operater.
