Though smaller in size than AFLAC, Amica Life Insurance Company has received rave reviews about its customer service. In 2010, Business Week magazine highlighted the fact that Amica’s customers were highly satisfied with the attention that it paid to its customers, and its employees were also highly satisfied with the way that they were treated, remaining with the company, and, therefore, contributing to a very low turnover rate.

The magazine also pinpointed the fact that technological advancements that are currently being utilized by Amica’s telecommunications system connect customers with agents in other localities when the customer’s local branch is besieged with extremely high call volume.

Obviously, AFLAC has a larger variety of insurance plans to meet a policy holder’s needs. Offering insurance plans that include basic needs such as whole, term and auto insurance, it also offers very specific insurance plans that address hospital intensive care costs and cancer disease costs.

Amica only offers basic insurance protection with the addition of marine insurance for policy owners who own boats.

However, in terms of customer service, Amica is extremely outstanding, having received numerous positive customer testimonials about its customer service. Furthermore, it is constantly striving to improve the level of customer satisfaction that the company is currently enjoying, resulting in happy customers who have no desire to look elsewhere for insurance protection.

AFLAC’s customer service rating, however, is less than stellar, being classified as disappointing by the Internet’s Customer Service Scoreboard. Having a variety of options to offer a customer is great, but if excellent customer service is non-existent, the purpose is completely defeated.

Given the choice, most people would gladly choose a company that has a smaller package but offers superior customer service over an abundance of options any day.
