Crazy Celebrity Cars

Celebrities are well known for having expensive tastes in cars. Whether they buy them as status symbols, or because they admire the speed and power, or just because they’ve never had the money to do so in their lives, for whatever reason, celebrities love expensive cars. Some like rare, restored versions of classic cars, while others will only ride around in the newest and most powerful vehicles on the market.

Many celebrities enjoy custom-made cars that you can’t even get at a standard dealerships. Some, like Bentleys and Rolls-Royces feature hand-made components which make them incredibly expensive and impossible to exactly copy. Let’s take a quick look at some of the most unique and amazing cars and trucks that celebrities use to run down the street to get a gallon of milk.

Most Tricked Out Celebrity Whips

An expensive car is cool and all, but if you are a real high roller then of course you get your “whip” (I think that’s what they call cars now) “tricked out” (which means that they like put extra stuff on – like an ice cream sundae!). While many of the cars on this list would be awesome to own even in their “normal” states, and most normal, working people will never even get to ride around in one (many cost more than the average person earns in a year), still, celebrities insist on making sometimes insane modifications to them. Check these out:

Jack Osbourne, son of the heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne (and honestly not really known for you know, doing anything himself) has a suitably morbid car to drive around in. It’s a BMW X5 – but that’s not the morbid part. What makes this car truly Ozz-worthy is the custom zombie paint job. It features a family portrait of the Ozzbournes as their undead-selves (no comment) as well as additional skulls down the side panels. Also: it’s BLACK!

Sean “Puff Daddy” aka “P Diddy” Combes will sometimes tool around in his extended-cab Chevy Express 3500. Base price for one of these babies is actually affordable for many Americans, clocking in at $28,000. However! When you give it the Diddy-treatment, you can easily drive that cost up over ten times! Throw in some plasma screen TVs, a wine chiller, monogram hardwood floors (think about that for a minute: many people would be happy to have hardwood floors in their homes or apartments! this guy has them in his VAN! Not only that: but they are monogrammed, which actually just begs the question: “Why?”). Grand total after all this work has been done: $380,000.

Samuel L. Jackson drives a Maybach 57S, a very unique car from an automaker that only produces high-end cars. His specific model features a custom Mercedes-Benz Designo paint job (Mercedes-Benz and Maybach work together on some models). Jackson’s ride also features a built-in fridge, folding tables with champagne flutes, and silver tumblers. It’s a car fit for the director of SHIELD.

Britney Spears has often been accused of having more money than sense. Coming from humble beginnings and thrust into the limelight from an early age, one can hardly blame her for not knowing what to do with her money (her questionable taste in men and childrearing missteps, however, are on her). Her hot pink Hummer H2 with Lousi Vuitton upholstery seem like a strange way to spend what had to be tens of thousands of dollars – but hey, it’s pink!

The band Green Day is the proud shared owner of a 1968 Mercury Monterey that has been (among other things) weaponized via the addition of a flamethrower. Other tactical enhancements include a fog machine for hiding from the crowds of angry fans who hated everything after Insomniac. Non-tactical (but still cool) additions are leopard skin seats (no word if they are made from real leopards) and a chain steering wheel.

Snoop Dogg also likes classic cars, sporting a 1967 Pontiac Parisienne with a custom gold and purple LA Lakers paint job. He actually went so far as to have the entire team sign it. No telling if he has new additions to the team sign it for him when they get signed.

Most Expensive Celebrity Vehicles

Those tricked out celebrity cars were cool and all, but to really get a glimpse at celebrity luxury, you need to take a look at how much these celebs paid for their rides. Kim Kardashian (no idea which sister she is) has a Ferrari 430 that costs just shy of $190,000. Paris Hilton (also inexplicably famous) has a baby pink Bentley GT Continental which costs more than a quarter million dollars. When he’s not tooling around in his sweet van, apparently P. Diddy also has a Maybach (maybe he races with Samuel L. Jackson – I know I would).

David Beckham has a custom Rolls-Royce Phantome Drophe at $407,000. Say what you will about the man, that is one sweet ride. You’ll notice a bit further down on the chart that his wife Victoria prefers a range rover. Renowned car love Jay Leno boasts a Mercedes SLR McLaren at $450,000. Nicholas Cage rounds out the group with his $670,000 Ferrari Enzo.

The grand prize has to go to Birdman, who comes in at number one and number two. His Maybach Exelero (Jay-Z drove one of these in a recent video – cause they’re awesome!) costs a whopping 8 million dollars! His backup car is a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 that comes in at 2.1 million (or one-fourth of a Maybach).
