This company has sent us bills multiple times even though we have never had insurance through their company.

They have been a nightmare to work with and I am shocked that they legally get away with what they do.

I filed hail damage claim with ARI on 1/23/2012, after that, I never got a chance to talk to them. Line is busy and voice mail box is full. They denied my claim today for no reason on 2/16 when I finally spoke to them.

My neighborhood has been hit by tonado and has a record! I did not make hail but weather did!

I wish I can rate it to zero.

HORRIBLE ….. looks like I will be going to Court.

Do not use this insurance company. Worst experience ever.

A hail storm hit my neighborhood on 2/11/13 and a claim was filed on 2/15/13. Every house on my block was approved and had roofs already replaced and also all homes behind my home. I am the only one with American Risk and was the only one denied.

I also called to get another claim number for window screens and garage door and they told me I didn’t need another claim# and that they would send the adjuster back out to look – this never happened. A request for a second re-inspection with a different adjuster was requested and denied.

I am still fighting for my rights and going through a nightmare. I rate -5 billion

This is a horrible insurance company.

They refuse to pay and refuse to come out to take pictures. The adjuster they sent to inspect my roof didn’t bring a ladder. I had to get my neighbor to lend a ladder. Hundreds of houses in my neighborhood had roof repairs. Mine was denied. Then they dropped me and said I was denied for my claim history.

    This was my only claim.

We just purchased a house and got insured by the American Risk Insurance Company. We now got a cancellation notice stating as reason a spot repair to the roof.

Before buying the house we got a certified inspector to inspect the house and he told us the house was in excellent condition. He saw the repair on the roof (due to hurricane Ike) and said that it was well repaired, no major concerns. I called my agent and feel completely in the dark she said that it was the companies decision and I needed to get a new insurance company, called me today with a price almost 2k more expensive, and take or leave it.

I called American Risk Insurance Company customer service and the spoke with Mr. Ted, he was horrible, no customer care skills at all. This is the companies decision and this is it.

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY, Horrible experience. They use your money for a month and left you empty handed.

This insurance company is a sham. They don’t pay legitimate claims. What they do pay is the predictably the cheapest lowest dollar figure they think they can get away with. They will not respond to questions.

Ask them about a little-known term called and “appearance allowance” It means there’s a tiny fraction of what it costs to repair. Deal with it. They are however very timely on one thing…Collecting Premiums.

The Texas Insurance Department is asleep at the switch when they allow companies like this one to pray on citizens of this state when they enter into good faith dealings with dishonest sleazy insurers like this. Avoid them like the plague

    This insurance is terrible.

The adjuster came to my friend’s house to get the information regarding the lightning damage and submitted to ARI company. He reported to adjuster that their air conditioner, garage opener, alarm system, internet, and many female outlets are not working. When he got the mail from ARI company, they denied his claim. They said the adjuster did not have enough evidence his house was hit by lightning.

But the question is why this insurance denied the claim. The evidence is very clear, some circuits are burned, modem internet totally broken, alarm system totally not working, garage opener totally not working, and air conditioning not working. I’m so concerned for this person because all expenses are from his pocket.

Horrible company!!!!! Called and called and got nowhere!!!

They don’t want pay on claims but are in a hurry to collect on premiums.

    TRUE RATING IS “0”

THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY EVER. IF YOU WANT TO BE PART OF A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT PLEASE RESPOND AND LET ME KNOW. I AM ON INSTAGRAM “SMARTJEANICE1962”

I FILED A CLAIM FOR HAIL DAMAGE, THEY ESTIMATED AT OVER $9,000 BUT ONLY GAVE ME $824 TOWARDS THE COST OF THE ROOF!! I HAVE NEVER FILED A CLAIM WITH THEM IN 11 YEARS OF BEING WITH THEM AND EVERY YEAR, MY PREMIUM INCREASED.

DON’T THROW AWAY YOUR MONEY, THESE PEOPLE ARE THIEVES! YES, THEY ARE A RISK, ONE THAT YOU DO NOT WANT TO TAKE.

The premiums are so cheap because they give cheap service and cheap coverage. There is no communication about your claim what-so-ever.

There is only one manager there, Larry Simmons and he won’t call you back. The adjuster called me names and belittled me… I’m appalled.

Before even thinking about buying a policy through these people, imagine losing your house, having everything you own put in storage and then discovering that your insurance company doesn’t return phone calls and doesn’t pay invoices for services it told you to arrange.

Over 11 weeks ago, an 80’+ tall tree fell through my house, causing about $94,000 worth of damage. Since then American Risk Insurance (ARI) has put me through a nightmare. ARI’s answering service actually hung up on me the day of the accident, because I called twice after not hearing back from anyone. It was an extremely dangerous situation because water was pouring into my house, electrical wires had been severed by the tree and it was storming outside, but ARI couldn’t have cared less.

Since the incident, my house has been uninhabitable, so I have been relying on my additional living expense (ALE) insurance coverage to pay for temporary housing while my home is being repaired. My general contractor stopped work, however, because ARI refused to pay invoices for emergency mitigation services that ARI told me to arrange and because ARI’s estimate contains so many gross irregularities and inaccuracies that my general contractor can’t tell what is covered.

ARI’s delays have caused me to exhaust most of my ALE coverage, so if work doesn’t resume immediately I will be homeless. I have filed a complaint with the Texas Department of Insurance, have contacted local news agencies (you’ll be hearing more about this in the news) and have had to contact an attorney. As is the case with many other complaints I’ve read online, Larry Simmons (VP Claims Department) has handled my claim and I can confirm that he never returns phone calls and that he ignores emails.
