Buyer Beware – in 1987 I took out life insurance from Crown Life. The certificate matured on my 65 birthday. The premiums were taken from my bank account every month for 24 years. At 65 one of the options was for me to receive the total amount of all the premiums I paid in.
The day after turning 65 I called to determine how to get my money (Approximately $5000.)I was advised that my account had been closed in March. Five months before I would be paid out. I received no notification that my insurance had been cancelled.
Although I am seeking a legal resolve to the issue, it has been an emotional rollercoaster ride knowing I was scammed so easily by what I understood was a reputable company.
