    No one will return my calls (over a week now) or email and it has been over a month since I filed a claim. I wish I had seen the other notes at the bottom of this page.

    If I could give a negative number for the rating I would! Amazing –

    have hail damage on our siding but they can’t see a “reason” why hail would hit our roof. house behind and beside have to siding damage, yet their insurance company is putting new roofs on. Homesite sends the same adjusting company – who tells you they are there to minimize your claim.

    We will be moving – once we pay out of pocket to get our home put back together! RUN from this company!

    It is extremely difficult to get in touch with the company at the claim time. No call or email back from them. They keep you in the dark. Will move on to other company.

    HORRIBLE COMPANY!!!!!! We have sent dozens of emails and made dozens of calls – still do not have paperwork or check in hand from a claim filed months ago!!!! THEY NEVER CALL or EMAIL BACK!

    The worst service I have ever experienced!!!!!!

    BAD!!!! do no purchase any insurance w/ this company… the sales team will tell you anything to sale you an policy…. i purchased extra coverage for my computer and had a claim denied….

    Do not get into a contract with these people; they are frauds at best. They will go to any lengths to avoid living up to their end of the legal contract. I have sued them and am awaiting trial in a year.

    They are down right dirty group of people. Stay away!

    Yes, if you go with Homesite Insurance you will be like most of the people on this list they will not contract you. I have two companies that tell me I have roof damage,The only time they Jeffrey Lloy called to tell me I had no claim.

    I will not call you or email you back. Stay away and tell others

    I got this home insurance through Progressive Home Insurance. When I talked with them before I bought they told me everything was covered. Watch out!

    They don’t cover flood from floor drain backup. It is an extra rider they don’t even tell you about when they help you. Cancelled since then.

    These people are horrible.

    Canceled my policy over a month ago, still no refund. A rep says she will call you back, she never does. Wow…thank god I left them and went with a local company. Am now filing an OIC complaint against them.

    Stay away!!!!

    Do not go with Progressive, who uses Homesite as the underwriter. We had terrible damage done to our home with last spring’s storms and the adjuster recommended full roof replacement. The people at Homesite are lying and saying these people did not recommend that and our only recourse is to pay for arbitration. pathetic!!!!

    We pay for this service and when the storms hit, they don’t want to pay up. don’t go with them!!!!! very poor and rude customer service as well. Ruby Johnson was the party that told half a dozen lies to us and on us and wouldn’t call us back until we demanded a supervisor call.

    I don’t mind spending the rest of my days spreading the word on these sorry companies.

    This is the poorest company to try to get in touch with anyone on the phone. The system just runs you around in circles. I have spent 20 minutes listening to the same rhetoric on three different phone numbers.

    All I want to do is get a confirmation on a bill and pay it for a customer and I can’t get passed the same messages. The system eventually hangs up on me.

    I give it a 1 out of five only because it doesn’t allow me to just leave it at 0.

    God forbid you ever have to file a claim with them. I’m in the process of contacting an attorney so that a bad faith suit can be filed. So sick of this company!

    This is the WORST COMPANY EVER!!!

    I had storm damage to my roof.They didn’t want to repair it. I had another company to come a inspect the roof and indeed it was damaged by a hail storm. Homesite cancelled my policy because the roof HAD TO BE REPAIRED!!!!

    They have sneakily raised our rates by $300 or more every year and we are just now, four years later, catching it. We have had no reason for these increases as we have yet to make a claim against our home insurance policy.

    Run from this company as fast as you can!

    Was forwarded on by Progressive Direct for Rental Property insurance. Told agent house was vacant with tenants moving into home in 5 weeks, I was assured by agent selling insurance that it would be covered since the move in date was so soon. I canceled my policy with different company and signed up with them.

    Two weeks later I get a cancellation notice based on the house being vacant! When I called in I was told they are not responsible for what their own agents say, I’ll see what the Insurance commission says about that. Probably a blessing in disguise since I can go with a reputable company now.

    Do not use this company. Sorry, there is not a zero star to rate them.

    Many big name companies that advertise low rates use them to underwrite homeowners’ policies. I had hail damage claim to roof & siding. Never received one return phone call from a person handling my claim. His VM message said he was too busy to return calls due to the volume of claims.

    However, they weren’t too busy to send out the policy renewal notice! The policy renewal stated it would be their option to choose who did repairs should something happen and it was their option to either REPAIR (in capital letters) or replace anything damaged. In other words, in the future they would be repairing – not replacing- using THEIR contractors- even when paying premiums for full replacement cost using a contractor I may elect to hire. Lesson learned.

    I did my homework and didn’t renew – now have much,much better coverage with a very highly JD Power rated company.

    Back in October 2014, I went through Esurance for renters insurance as I had many break ins at my apartment, and one attempted break-in. on Nov. 2nd, 2014, I had another break in, not only did they steal a bunch of stuff (electronics, etc) but they vandalized just about everything in my house (I am gone from my home every Sunday from around 6pm till around 10pm, so I know I am being watched and targeted, and I know who these people are).

    I filed a police report, called Esurance to make my claim, was given 3 different companies that my renter insurance policy could be through… Finally called Homesite and made my claim, My claims Adjuster, Joel Sanchez (who btw has only been with the company since Aug. 11, 2014) was nice at first, but after finding out that the damage and stolen property costs came to over $19,000,

    I have had nothing but headaches from this company, I had to argue with Mr. Sanchez to get him to send someone out to take pictures of the damage to my apartment, he told me they usually only do that for homeowners policies, but finally did get him to agree to send someone out, I was asked to submit proof of ownership for items I listed as stolen (proof of ownership for destroyed items and 1 stolen item came from the company they sent out to take pictures)

    I filled out and faxed in my sworn statement, one of the questions was had I ever had a loss with another company, I said yes, well, when I did the recorded statement, I said no (I believe it was because I was asked within a certain amount of time, not sure to be honest). well, they found 2 prior losses in 2008 and 2009, both of which I had electronics stolen in, well, because some of the items are “similar” they now want me to show that I replaced the items back then, mind you, I showed photo evidence of proof of ownership of these items, my question is, how is it that these photo’s are not also proof that the items were replaced, weather back in 2008 or in 2011 should not matter (I replaced the items right away mind you, I just have no way to show it, I even went to the other insurance companies, but they did not have all of the receipts I submitted), I still have not gotten a satisfactory answer to my question.


    oh ,and when you do get someone that helps you, they mysteriously disappear (get fired) I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy, and will post the same thing I have said here everywhere I can to get the word out to people about this crooked company.

    Todd Jackson also, just to point out, looking at the star rating to the left of the screen, I see 8 5 star ratings, and 40 1 star ratings, and threw further internet searches, I have found that (at least my part of the Homesite group) has had like 300% more complaints yearly than most other companies since 2009 I believe is what was said, I will post a link here for ppl to read what I read
