My daughter totaled her car and we were left with a $2100 gap between value of car and what we owed. We had GAP insurance with Old United and they denied payment saying that if some existing damage to the car had been fixed that my car would have been worth more than what I owed on it. In others words that I would have been in a “right side up” situation instead of upside down or with a “Gap”.

I have heard of very few individuals that are not upside down due unless it was a unique situation. Mine was not, Old United just found a way to wiggle out of paying out on my accident, which is exactly why I bought the insurance.

I would not buy insurance from them again and probably not any other GAP provider.

I am a new customer of Old United Marine Insurance and I have to say they do not have their act together when it comes to Billing and/or Customer Service !!!!

I have been trying to pay my bill on a weekly basis so I can pay the premium off quickly. I have also been working with a rep that has tried to help but I am no further along than I was (3) months ago !!!!

I have also been trying to find out who to speak with about the issue because my payments keep getting refunded !!!! Today, I have no idea how much I currently owe and neither does Old Casualty !!!! What a nightmare……

I am so frustrated at this point, I am thinking of canceling my policy and going back to BoatUs !!!!

It has been over a month and still have not paid my gap. I have done everything they asked and more than what my regular insurance asked and they paid most of it.

I hate this company and will never use again or recommend.

Do not do business with this company. They are happy to sell you insurance but try and cancel and its impossible!

After countless phone calls and searching for their “form” online, I still am paying them. How unfortunate this is their business practice as in theory it’s a good product. I still pay them every month and as a consumer, it’s tied into my auto loan so I can’t pay it or it would ruin my credit.

Both the dealership and this company have been criminally underhanded. Where is there transparency in business? Don’t get stuck like me.
