  1. KAREN BLOODWORTH KIEKOW 22. Jun, 2011 at 12:00 am #

This company has proposed that an obit be required as proof on the number of children a deceased person has left behind. There are no investigations into the actual data reported in an obituary leading to possible erroneous listings.

According to several funeral homes, many families do not post an obit for an elderly relative who’s family has preceded him in death. I told the claims rep that my father has a will listing the 3 children (who are his only children) to whom all of his worldly possessions were to be passed to and they didn’t seem remotely interested.

It appears that perhaps this company’s employees could be retrained in how to console family members who are trying to meet the many requirements of the state and local county pertaining to taxation and proper documentation for purposes of recording inheritance funds.

I am not finished and will seek the assistance of the State of California regarding their archaic requirements.

Love it when a company send you a notice for payment and no website or address is listed on the invoice! How does a family find information when or if needed.

LOVE it when the 1 866 629 6899 number UNION Fidelity lists on their website refers you to a PORNO PHONE LINE! Also, been on hold for 30 minutes. Cannot get thru!!

Received notice that DRIASI will be handling all claims. Didn’t receive notice from you. Called and got confirmation of transition from you.

    Thanks for the prompt attention.

Horrible company. Repeatedly on hold then just hangs up. No website to get information from.

  11. Frank 02. Feb, 2012 at 12:00 am #

No way to look up information regarding policy.

If you are considering this company save yourself a great deal of aggravation. They do not answer their phones promptly and their customer service, in general, is really terrible!

I have tried calling this company for 2 weeks and have been on hold for 30 minutes at the time each day. If I ever am able to talk to anyone, I am going to be ugly. This is unreal.

I’ve had this Union Fidelity Life Ins policy – through AAA auto club membership – for about 15 years. ALL of the reviews printed here are absolutely factual.

Here’s my experience: after 42 minutes on hold (to their 800#), I asked why my bill doesn’t have the usual payment options (monthly, quarterly, etc). Was told by UFLI rep to “pay whatever amount you wish.” Yea, right! and be canceled!

When I responded by saying that the bill calls for a due date for the entire amount and that I didn’t want to be considered late, or be canceled for non-payment, the rep repeated the “pay whatever” line.

I then asked her if the company has anything in writing stating the bill could be paid in installments, as before, the rep said, “No, just pay whatever you’d like.” I then asked the rep if she could have the payment policy sent to me; she (reluctantly) stated that she “can send it out to you, but it won’t get to you for at least two weeks.” (???AND??) I requested that it be sent anyway. A full month-and-a-half later, I get the same exact bill in the mail, same (now old) due date.

These people are nobody you want to send your hard-earned money to – RUN!!!!!

On hold for long periods of time waiting for someone to answer. I called four different times to have a change of beneficence form mailed to me. I was told it was mailed out on 2/27/12.

I’m still waiting 3 weeks later, but I did get the monthly bill!!

My mother had a policy with Union Fidelity since 1970. She paid about $50 a month and when she died I tried for months to get the policy but they have had all kinds of reasons why they couldn’t give it to me. I have sent in all the requested paperwork but still no policy has been sent.

They were very rude and when I said I would have my attorney contact them about the contract they told me in essence it wouldn’t matter.

Found out my premiums were not being taken out of my Discover Credit card, as it has been since 2000. Called Discover, since Union Fidelity was a partner with them, and they could not get them on the phone either. Was given the the 1-800-308-6718 from Discover, but it does not work. I am now going to use the toll-free #’s I got from the internet.

Discover is going to check into it for me, but I also will check on my own. After reading the reviews, I believe I will check with my State Dept. on Insurance to see how they are rated and it any complaints were filed. If I gather any more info. I will review it again.

Think I will drop this company, if I am not satisfied with their results.

This company has no website. Who would want to do business with a company so cheap it can’t afford a basic website???

  20. Barbara Durland 18. Aug, 2013 at 12:00 am #

I purchased a term life policy from another insurance company, and this company bought the policy and converted it to a decreasing life police. We paid on it for 45 plus years.

They want to pay 900.00 instead of the policy life of 10,500. Any judge or jury would know now one would pay 45 plus on a decreasing life police. We were dumb enough to think all insurance companies were under some sort of guidelines.

This insurance company is a fraud

  21. Robin 05. Sep, 2013 at 12:00 am #

    This company is bogus!

I have been trying to contact this company for several days with the phoney numbers that were listed and to no avail! I am frustrated and will contact our state insurance company about this. One number sounds like a porno number, the other, just says it’s disconnected, I called an 1800 number and the person told me she was told by the supervisor she could not help me and had to disconnect the call. What kind of foolishness is this??

A big scam, I tell ya, a big scam!! If anyone has been successful in getting a live person who was able to assist you, please post the number…thank you!

    OMG! These comments are depressing.

My wife passed on Dec 28, 2013, and I’m just getting around to life insurance policies and my wife has one from Union Fidelity. I called the 800-331-5048 and they were very polite, indicating they would send me the claim form which should arrive 5-7 days.

Now I’m rather disturbed because I could not find a website and then read all these comments!

My Dad had a $10,000 policy and paid in over $10,000 and they paid $3,800 upon his death! With the audacity to deduct the $36.00 premium that was due the month he died, February 10!

Worse yet, every customer service agent we spoke with prior the actually filing the claim told us that the policy was in fact for $10,000! Worst insurance company EVER…

  24. B 09. Aug, 2014 at 12:00 am #

I have been paying on an accidental death and dismemberment for about 10 years now. I have misplaced my policy and tried calling the BOGUS numbers on their website. The toll-free number is actually a ‘talk line’ and the 215 number is disconnected. Nice!

    I plan on canceling.

unfortunately sometimes policies are transferred from company to company and information gets lost or is not updated properly. Germantown Policies are administered by IAS or Insurance Administrative Services. The number is 1-800-621-0393

I do not believe this company is still in business as calls to their posted phone numbers just connects you to a series of offers to be given free items for answering 1 or 2 questions then, at the end of refusing the free items, you are told to call another number.

Guess what, that number gives you the same selection of free products then hangs up on you. This company needs to be investigated and closed down to prevent further finical loss to unsuspecting individuals.

  27. Arun 09. Feb, 2015 at 7:56 pm #

Have only had to contact them to change billing information and have had no problems. Originally purchase this through a credit card offer.

  28. Marie Mulroy 13. Aug, 2015 at 6:35 pm #

My 92-year-old mother has been paying $21 a month since 1997 on a policy that has a face value of only $2500 unless she dies under accidental circumstances and then it kicks in another $2500. This means she has paid almost $5000 for a policy that will only pay out $2500 on her death.

I called some obscure customer service people in Minneapolis who said too bad. I even called back again because I thought the guy had to be wrong. If she stops paying the policy is in default and she gets nothing and if she surrenders she gets a whopping $600.

If they did this to my unsuspecting mother, God knows how many other gullible older people they have gotten.

Scum…Total Scum…I just got their adult phone line listed as their contact. Basically, what they are saying is the jokes on us. They would like us to get discouraged and go away.

I’m not going away. I will be suing for breach of contract–not for money, but general principle.

The people behind this company represent the kind of society we all need to take a stand against.

Not happy at all, been trying to reach Fidelity Ins. for weeks with the toll-free number listed in the material I have when I signed up 15 years ago. All I get are prompts for selling everything from cable service, trips and you name it.

This is very important for me to contact a real live person, but have no luck, only prompts. I am very disappointed in this insurance company and its failure to provide accurate information when a policy holder is trying to reach someone.

We received a notice that my husband’s grandmother had left a life insurance policy to her daughter, now deceased. The sole inheritor is my husband, and like another recent review stated, a requirement of an obituary was necessary.

I thought this odd but paid to dig up the archive of the obituary only to find out that we need an affidavit of distributed for collection specifically stating that my husband is allowed the funds. This seems odd. THEY are the ones that sent the information about his grandmother’s life insurance policy AND to the estate of his mother. THEY are the ones who have more information than we do evidently.

If you call the representatives on the phone, they are rude and do not answer questions without talking down to you. I had to ask the same question four times before the representative finally answered my one single question that, if I do say so myself- I knew more about than the rep. They do not allow faxing either. I’m beginning to wonder if it’s a scam.

Can you give less than one star? That should be an option here…

the phone numbers listed above state out of order and the 800 gives me an option to talk now too hot guys…seriously….

  33. Tara 15. Jun, 2017 at 7:55 am #

Phone numbers I have for the company:
My grandma purchased a policy for me. She began my policy in elementary school. I’m now 28 and wanted to borrow from it. Still waiting on a policy letter. They have no website and I feel it’s a fraud!!!

If nothing’s done I will contact BBB, local news, and attorney. These reviews are sickening and depressing!! Has anybody received payout or success after speaking to someone?
