I have had my whole life plan since a child and have never had any issues with this company or premium increases in 30 years. I needed to take a loan against my policy while unemployed and they made it hassle free and I had a check in hand within the week.

I paid on a policy since 1984 and in 2012 my husband passed away. I called the insurance company and gave them all information about his policy and was waiting on my check. They never sent it. They told me that they do not know who the beneficiary is on the policy.
I was married in 1981 and have been with the same man since then we have two policies with this company his and mine. They are in numeric order number as to when we purchased them. Now they say I am not the beneficiary on his policy and I have to go to probate court. What a bunch of crap. Please check your policies so you don’t have to fight to get what is rightfully yours.

My father passed away at the end of Jan. We were told his claim would be processed within 2 weeks. Nothing happened. We called after the two weeks and were told they would speed up his policy, we should wait 2 more weeks. Nothing happened.
It has been 90 days and no one can tell us what is going on with the policy, and when transferred to a supervisor, you get a voicemail. Very poor service. Prudential Insurance had our policy processed within 1 week.
I think it’s time to talk to our state’s attorney general about this company.

I have an annuity through them which is supposed to arrive by the 1st of every month. When the annuity was handled by Conseco–no problem, the check was here by the 1st. Since Washington National hs taken over, it’s been HORRIBLE. The check sometimes doesn’t arrive until the 9th or the 10th. They’ve tried to blame the Postal Service but have admitted not mailing out the checks until the 1st or the 2nd.
I also tried setting up direct deposit, and have a copy of the fax I sent *clearly* showing everything and all correctly filled out, but they claimed they cannot process it because they cannot read the bottom part of the check (wrong–the copy I have shows the bottom very clearly). And when you call them, they never resolve anything.
Worst company ever.

Opinion based on experience, but after years of paying into this plan and multiple attempts to continue it after retirement, our agent and this company failed. requiring more, Hence we lost a considerable sum.

We are currently trying to get a payment on a life insurance policy after my mother’s passing. It has been 8 weeks and they are saying at least another 4 weeks while “Legal looks at it”.
They do not care about their clients, only their premiums.
